“I wanted windows at the front that lifted the look of the property while helping to keep inside more energy efficient. SEH BAC and FineLine really delivered, and the transformation is amazing.”
“Their design and close eye to detail provides the perfect replica of a classic sash window, but the attractive colour choice of Hazy Grey has given it a contemporary look which fits the property perfectly and gives it some real curb appeal. They will also improve the homes performance, which was another reason for the upgrade. We’re delighted to hear how happy the customer is with their new windows.”
“The SEH BAC team were brilliant throughout the whole process, from start to finish, and I’m happy that I chose the Hazy Grey colour, which really blends with the fantastic detail of the windows. The installation team were also impressive and completed the job on time and to budget.”
Replacing windows on a property can really make a statement and provide a transformation that breathes new life into it. For one Chelmsford resident, that was certainly the case.
Their original windows were not performing as they should be, and they not only wanted to update the performance but the look too. After seeing the job FineLine had done replacing windows on a family’s property, the leading home improvement company in the South East was the only company the client was going to turn to for the installation.

Stunning vertical sliding windows
A total of 14 vertical sliding windows were installed, covering every window at the front of the property to stunning effect, including the lounge bay window, the front bedroom bay window, the two front bedrooms and the downstairs music room. The bespoke vertical sliding sash windows provide the appearance of a timber window but in high-performance uPVC, and for an even more unique appearance, they were coloured Hazy Grey on the inside and the outside and feature authentic chrome furniture for a stylish finish. The windows, which feature a sleek 35mm mid-rail, are designed to redefine classic sash windows, and include run-through sash horns. For ventilation, the slot vent is located in the top sash only, while the glazing features an astragal grid in the top panel. The movable panel is easy to operate and allows the customer to easily control the ventilation in the home.

Superior performance
Thanks to the high-performance uPVC material, the vertical sliding windows combine period charm with innovative modern benefits, including superior thermal capabilities to keep the home warm. For the best home security, the windows feature innovative internal sash interlocks an anti-jammy bar and child restrictors. The bottom pane also features toughened glass to keep the windows even more secure. They also provide fantastic weather resistance and have a maintenance-free design and won’t rot, crack, warp, or fade throughout their lifespan, unlike real timber.
An impressive transformation
The heritage vertical sliding sash windows proved the perfect fit for the front of the beautiful, detached property, with the customer also getting standard uPVC windows and doors installed on the back of the property. Steve Rawding, SEH BAC and FineLine’s Sales and Marketing Director, commented: “While heritage vertical sliding sash windows effortlessly completement older properties, thanks to a wide range of colour and finishing options they can also add a unique character to modern properties, which has never been more highlighted than on this property.
